Fibromyalgia 2
Fibromyalgia 2 : this is the diagnosis given to many patients who suffer from chronic pain. The criteria for diagnosing someone with fibromyalgia are made by simply pushing on specific points on the body and asking the patient if those areas are tender. If a certain number of those points are tender then the patient is diagnosed with fibromyalgia. You can see why this is such a common diagnosis. It is in fact a garbage can diagnosis when the doctor doesn't know what is causing the symptoms. That does not mean your symptoms are not real or that you are not in a lot of pain, but it certainly doesn't address the cause of the symptoms
