Effective Dose Equivalent (EDE)
Effective Dose Equivalent (EDE) : The dose equivalent from both external and internal irradiation defined by WH, where H is the dose equivalent in tissue T and W is the weighing factor representing the ratio of the risk arising from irradiation of tissue T to the total risk when the whole body is irradiated uniformly. The effective dose equivalent is expressed in units of rem.
