Cable (Electrical) :

An electrical circuit comprising one or more conductors in an insulating sheath. Materials used for sheathing Band I and II cables for protection and to prevent moisture ingress include: chloro-sulphonated polyethylene (c. s. p. , ethylene propylene (c. p. r. , polychloroprene (pep), polyvinyl chloride (pvc) and silicone rubber. A mineral powder (usually magnesium oxide) within a copper sheathing is also used as an insulating medium for cables laid in hot places. These cables are known as MILS- mineral insulated copper sheathed, or MICC-mineral insulated copper clad. h. of f r. sheath (of a cable) - heat-resisting, oil-resisting, and flame-retardant sheath complying with BS 6899 sect. 5
