Unified Command (UC) 14

Unified Command (UC) 14 :

Unified Command (UC) is a recognition that the most effective response involves all parties working together to bring their respective expertise to the incident. UC uses a management structure to facilitate cooperation by all sectors with jurisdictional or functional responsibility for resolving the incident. They must work together to develop a common set of objectives and strategies, share information, maximize utilization of resources, and enhance efficiency of the individual response organizations. Joint unified command training should be provided to the public and private sectors. (Jones, Critical Incident Protocol: A Public and Private Partnership, 2000, p. 19)
